Instead of strong bonds with fulfilling stability,
there’s anxious and jittery volatility.
‘cause agitations and heated distractions
prevent our spontaneous interactions.
Equilibration requires strong sources:
Reliable, trusted restoring forces.
Without this direction we’re left with confusion
and aimless, stochastic, and soulless diffusion.
…And “virtual-only” connections take toll
by keeping us under kinetic control.
We forget that these “bonds” (that make us screen addicts)
are weak…(like long-ranged electrostatics).
…And thus, despite “thermal noise,” we’ve grown
to feel (paradoxically) rather alone.
Our connections are transient, leaving us hurt,
Like noble gases, completely inert.
So the lesson is clearly to slow down the pace,
To be worthy of trust, and to bond face-to-face,
To make the tough choice of respecting the wait
Of earning our (thermodynamic) best state.
